13.05.2025 The French-German Dialog – "Is Artificial Intelligence Gender Biased? How Women Reshape AI" welcomed 60 participants

Ute Schmid discussed the topic in the panel "Gender Bias in Artificial Intelligence: An Overview and Ethical Challenges"

On May 13th, 2025, BayFrance had the pleasure of welcoming 60 participants in the French-German Dialog – Is Artificial Intelligence Gender Biased? How Women Reshape AI.

They hosted two dynamic panel discussions:
? Panel 1: Gender Bias in Artificial Intelligence: An Overview and Ethical Challenges, moderated byNoha Salama, MBA PMP.
? Panel 2: Tackling Bias and Risks for Discrimination in AI: Steps Towards a More Inclusive Future, moderated byDr. Niina Zuber.

This event reminded everybody of a crucial truth: if we want a more inclusive AI, more women should be included at every stage of the process — from early education to high-level decision-making.

In a nutshell these challenges were discussed:
? Raising awareness among girls about science and technology from an early age
? Encouraging them to pursue careers in STEM, and supporting them throughout their academic and professional journey
? Continuing implementing ambitious public policies in France, Germany and Europe
? Involving women directly in the design and development of technologies
? Implementing more rigorous testing cycles for AI systems before they are launched, to detect and mitigate bias early
? And as individuals: staying informed, questioning how AI works, challenging its outcomes, and actively shaping the digital world we want to live in
