Bamberg is a great place to spend a semester (or two) abroad - especially for students in political science. We offer a broad variety of high-quality courses in English. Our lecturers are experienced experts in the various subdisciplines of political science.

Every semester, we offer the following courses for you in English:

• Seminar: Basic skills in Political Science (6 ECTS-Points) 
  → We highly recommend that you take this course in your first semester at Bamberg
• Seminar in International and European Politics (6 ECTS-Points)
• Seminar in Comparative Politics (6 ECTS-Points)
• Seminar in Political Theory (6 ECTS-Points)
• Seminar in Policy Analysis (6 ECTS-Points)
• Seminar in Political Sociology (6 ECTS-Points)
• Seminar in Digital Politics (6 ECTS-Points)

In each of these Seminars (except for basic skills),  specific topic / issues / countries may vary from semester to semester. At Lehrveranstaltungen, you find courses with more specific titles sorted by subject areas. As a general rule, if the specific title of a course is in English, the course is taught and examined in English. When in doubt, please contact the listed lecturer directly. As you also see there, further courses are offered in German. You are happy to visit these as well if your language skills allow it. Generally, we expect a German level of at least B2 for participation.

If your home university requires a module description for course recognition, please refer them to our module handbook (German only, but AI translation will surely help). Further information is usually also provided in the specific course plan, which you will receive directly from your course's lecturer.
