Local Climate Data Stories

New paper presented at the workshop Viz4Climate + Sustainability: IEEE VIS 2024 Workshop on Visualization for Climate Action and Sustainability.

Our research group has contributed a new workshop article titled “Local Climate Data Stories: Data-driven Storytelling to Communicate Effects and Mitigation of Climate Change in a Local Context.” The work focuses on utilizing data-driven storytelling to communicate the local impacts of climate change, emphasizing the need for location-specific solutions. The study analyzes the use of this pproach by local news media, explores educational aspects through university teaching examples, and highlights interdisciplinary research opportunities.
