Description

This study of the collective biography of an Ottoman-Kurdish notable family, the Bedirhanis, investigates continuities and ruptures between Ottoman and post-imperiale contexts and sheds light on conceptions of the self, on opportunity structures and interpretations of reality among members of the Ottoman-Kurdish elite in a period of change and transformation (1876 to 1940).
