Welcome to the Website of the Master of Arts (M.A.) Program in Turcology!
The Turkish Studies program in Bamberg has a historical focus, with special emphasis on the history of the Ottoman Empire and modern Turkey in the 19th and 20th centuries. Since working with original sources is the core business of historians, improving Turkish language proficiency and acquiring reading skills in Ottoman Turkish have an important place in the program. It is also possible to learn another Turkic language (usually Azerbaijani). The language of instruction is German.
