There can be different reasons for credit recognition, each with a different procedure. The Examining Board makes decisions regarding credit recognition on the basis of the preparatory review conducted by the subject advisors. According to the amount of credit recognised, credit recognition can lead to being placed in a higher semester of study within the programme.
For that reason, your first step should always be to get in touch with the subject advisors. The decisive factor in establishing which subject advisor is responsible is which subject within your programme configuration you would like to have the credit applied to. If possible, please also send proof of the relevant credits as well as an overview of the credits you have gained to date within the Bamberg History programme and any open examination registrations and their corresponding modules (e.g. FlexNow data sheet).
Please contact the subject advisors regarding credit recognition. Be sure to include proof of completed course and examination components (including the applicable module handbook) for credits obtained externally. This should show the assessment type for each of the module’s examination components and the thematic focus of the relevant modules.
An internal change within the University of Bamberg means changing your degree programme or changing within the different configurations of the History programme (e.g. from History as a minor subject to History as a major subject).
Please contact the relevant subject advisor regarding credit recognition and include an up-to-date FlexNow data sheet and a list of all your open examination registrations and the corresponding module and processing status.
Course and examination credit obtained abroad can be recognised if it has equivalent requirements to those at the University of Bamberg in terms of content and examination requirements.
You can find out how the credit recognition and transfer process works exactly on the Studying abroad: credit recognition webpages (in German).
Please first get in touch with the relevant subject advisor and establish whether the credit recognition you want is possible.
For the credit recognition itself, please contact the relevant subject advisor and include the relevant proof of completed course and examination credit, an up-to-date FlexNow data sheet and a list of all your open examination registrations and the corresponding module and processing status.
