IT is changing the world we live in. The Internet, mobile devices and the penetration of many products and processes with information technology make this clear to us every day. Our bachelor's degree programme in Applied Computer Science, which optimally prepares you for the diverse tasks that arise for computer scientists in their careers, focuses on these issues:
- A sound education in computer science, which is orientated towards the usual standards, creates a solid basis.
- With specialisations such as human-computer interaction, media informatics or cognitive systems (‘learning systems’), the focus is placed on the important interface between humans and computers.
- In the field of applications, the focus extends beyond conventional applications to the areas of culture and media with their information processing processes characterised by high media and content requirements.
The Bachelor's degree programme in Applied Computer Science encourages you to understand the requirements in different application areas in order to solve problems within these application areas in a targeted manner with the help of modern information technologies. You will acquire the necessary skills for this during the course of your studies in the subjects of computer science and applied computer science. Building on the corresponding foundation modules, you can specialise in applied computer science in various fields:
- Media, computer graphics, and design
- Interaction & visualisation
- Machine learning, text, dialogue
- Machine learning, knowledge representation, robotics
Besides these applied computer science courses, the study program also comprises modules In computer science, such as theoretical informatics, communications systems, distributed and mobile systems, software technology and programming languages as well as privacy and security.
